Tricking the Tooth Fairy
When you were little, did you ever try to trick the Tooth Fairy? What about Santa? At the very least, I know I tried to stay up so that I could see them. It never worked of course, but it didn’t stop me from trying. I recently found a cute book about playing tricks. The book is How To Trick The Tooth Fairy, by Erin Danielle Russell, and it is pretty interesting, to say the least.
Kaylee is the main character in the book and she thinks that she is the princess of the pranks. However, Kaylee didn’t count on the Tooth Fairy having tricks of her own up her sleeve. The Tooth Fairy is a little smarter than Kaylee gives her credit for. See, her (Kaylee) tricks have always worked on friends and strangers. As a matter of fact, she is one of the best pranksters among her friends. She even drops water balloons onto people as they walk by! This little girl needs some attitude adjustment…and the Tooth Fairy is happy to oblige.
It begins with Kaylee leaving a fake frog under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy to find. Well, when you try and trick her with a fake frog, she makes it rain real frogs! Don’t mess with the Tooth Fairy! She has a magical wand. As the story goes on the two go back and forth trying to match trick for trick. I’m sure you can guess who comes out on top. Unfortunately, the Tooth Fairy is only trying to teach Kaylee a lesson, but she ends up scaring her. That is when things change between the two of them.
They finally end up seeing eye to eye and agreeing to stop the pranking…on each other! It is a cute story that your little ones will enjoy and laugh over. When I read this to my granddaughter, we were able to have a nice conversation afterward about how it is not nice to trick people. Especially the Tooth Fairy!
You could use this book as a learning tool and have great conversations with your children. I love when a book teaches lessons to little ones. I believe this is important, and this book definitely does that. You can click on the links I’ve provided or you can find this book on Amazon.
